Potential relay is designed to start single-phase motorswhich employ both start and run capacitor for high torque. The most frequent applications include air conditioning,commercial refrigeration,heat pump,etc. The coil is energised by the potential of the statt winding.When such voltage is raised up to the pick up value,the contact will open and disconnect the start capacitor.The relay will remain energised until the start winding voltage is removed or decreased to less than the drop out value. Potential Relays Are Ideal For Use With Start Capacitor Motors. Potential relays feature continuous duty and Class B insulation. Available with continuous coil voltage ranging from 170 up to 495. Operating temperature range for all relays are 40°F to 130°F. All relays feature Inrush VA of 10 and Nom. VA of 5.

potential relay The SUPR Universal Potential Relay is a time function potential relay designed to be a Wire to Wire replacement for virtually any potential relay on the market. It can be used on any single phase motor or air conditioning and refrigeration compressor up to 5 hp. SUPR Specifications Operating Voltage 110 – 270 VAC, Single Phase Motor Power Rating up to 5 hp Start Time 0.5 +/- 0.1 seconds Operating Position Non-positional mounting. Universal Mounting Bracket Allows for easy installation. Unused portions of the bracket simply snap-off with pliers. Terminals Screw or push-on. Adapters to convert screw-on to push-on are provided.
